Eyes on for 2021: Purple Hat Mob

Purple Hat Mob are an alt rock band, inspired by the likes of Radiohead and Jagwar Ma, currently based in Liverpool after building a following in Preston and Cumbria.

The four-piece is driven by the songwriter, lead singer and producer David, his brother

Stu is on guitars and synth, Jarrar on bass and Matt on keys/samples.

Their Australian influence doesn’t stop at Jagwar Ma either, the band’s name comes from two of the members uncle who had a notorious ‘mob’ of mates in Sydney where he grew up in the 60s.

After their uncle passed away in 2008, they decided to continue his legacy on the other side of the world.

They’ve had multiple plays on BBC Introducing and even radio play in mainland Europe as well as playing in multiple venues around the North West.

Their new single ‘Time Will Tell’ is lined up for release in January and the group are planning to release a self-produced debut album in 2021.
